Overview

Community Created Humboldt (CCH) was a series of meetings providing forums in 2009 and 2010 for the diverse people of Humboldt County to discuss how we can, together, create a healthy, prosperous and thriving future. These meetings have been followed up by on-going followup meetings in many important community sectors in Humboldt such as food and energy security.

Events

  • November 9th, 2009 event - A small meeting at Plaza Grill where maps of Humboldt were overlaid (using velum and markers) with visions of a more sustainable Humboldt.
  • Veterans Day 2009 event - An interactive workshop discussing how other communities have co-created a more sustainable future, how Humboldt is already doing that, and what more can be done. The idea of using Open Space Technology as a way to manifest community based change was presented. (presentation included)
  • January 23rd, 2010 event - A half day Open Space event, with over 100 community members in attendance, focused broadly on co-creating a more healthy, prosperous and thriving future. (transcriptions included)
