We are currently involved in an effort to construct a small lending library in Morrito Nicaragua.
Through Engineers Without Borders, we learned of a town in Nicaragua called Morrito. None of us had been there, but we had heard that the community was in pretty bad shape (see background materials below). So this summer we took our first trip.  In short, we found a very poor fishing community with no industry to speak of, no library, and no municipal water supplySo after visiting with the community we are planning to build a library and computer center when we visit during our January 2009 trip. In time, we also hope to help with the water problem. If you have any questions, ask me: david.reber

Starting next fall, several of us will begin working on designs for a medical waste incinerator to be installed by the San Francisco Professional Chapter Of Engineers Without Boarder's Haiti Team.

We have a LOT of questions about this, so if you know anything about incinerators or hospitals, PLEASE contact me

Open Officer Positions
We are hoping to expand the officer ranks so we will be adding job positions here.  Currently, officers have been elected by consensus among the existing officers. However, if consensus fails we will vote.
*Secretary/secretaries - this person would take notes at meetings and club functions and post them here.
*Special Event Coordinator(s) - Is in charge of facilitating monthly members meetings which will include speakers and movies.
:* "Affluenza" has been a recommended movie
:* "The New Heroes" has also been brought to our attention
*Recruiter(s) - In charge of tabling and creating events which increase interest in EWB SFSU.
*Local Project Coordinator(s) - this person will arrange local projects.
:*Habitat for Humanity
:*Onebrick.org
*Fundraiser(s) - In charge of facilitating fund raising events
*Conference facilitator(s) - EWB SFSU should be hosting the first ever Appropedia conference in October(confirmation at the end of the month) and this will require a whole lot of leg work around campus in September - the more people we can get involved in this, the better.
*Faculty Advisor(s) - we are looking for faculty advisers who will take an active roll in EWB SFSU and ensure it's longevity after we leave.
*Mentor(s) - People with international experience who want to attend our meetings and events to give us advice.

This is a list of projects that need to get done but don't necessarily need a position made for them.
* Create Tee-shirts this can include the EWB logo or anything else that strikes your fancy
* You can help us be very visible in the quad early next semester and make a concerted effort to advertise to non-engineers
* We have also considered hosting a banquet to recognize one or two outstanding Professors at our university.  This is a politically tricky process as feelings can be hurt and it is difficult to recognize teachers for excellence as opposed to just popularity.
