Hmm, the permaculture 'canon' contains a lot of really speculative material that hasn't been given scientifically-meaningful trials or studies. Additionally, much of agriculture and other land-based practices/livelihoods are filled with anecdotal information. I think this kind of information is valuable, particularly when it comes from traditional and indigenous cultures' inherited practices. But as the saying goes "the plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'".
