Boilerplate (prefilled text for a new page) can be a useful guide when editing.
One challenge is making sure that unused boilerplate text is deleted (or at a minimum, commented out) rather than left in, cluttering the page. Ideas:
- Put clear requests for the user to delete the boilerplate
- Run a bot (can we do it only for pages not edited in the last 30d?) Identify pages with raw boilerplate, and manually delete the boilerplate content.
Boilerplate implemented on Appropedia:
- {{create project page}}
- {{create topic page}}
- Help:Creating a page (uses the above two templates)
- Appropedia:Topics
- Form:Medical Device
