Our monthly chat is an internet chat to talk about Appropedia - what you're working on, challenges for Appropedia, and ideas to improve things. As this is new, we're trying out different chat platforms, so check here for details, or join the community mailing list.
How to connect to the chat
Easiest option for connecting to IRC: enter via the Freenode Web Chat. Enter a username and connect.
If you already have an IRC client, connect to #appropedia on Freenode.net. See Appropedia:IRC for advanced options.
Next meeting
The next meeting will be an edit jam. Pick a topic or an article you want to work on, join the chat and get help with your article.
- When: Sunday October 14, 2012, 10pm GMT. For example, in North America that's 3pm Pacific Time (PDT), 4pm Mountain Time (MDT) & 6pm Eastern Time (EDT); in London it's 11pm; in Melbourne/Sydney/Canberra, Australia it's 9am Monday 15th AEDT; and in NZ it's 11am Monday 15th (NZDT).
- Virtual meeting place: For now we're using IRC, but we may wish to try other platforms such as Skype. That will be announced here, under the #Next meeting section, and a message will also be left in the IRC channel to tell you where we've gone!
- Theme: Edit jam - think about what page you'd like to start or improve, and any questions you'd like to ask... or just turn up and join in!

- Day: Second Sunday of each month. (Monday morning in Asia & Oceania.)
- Time: 10pm GMT. We'll try to give a few local times around the world each time, and you can also look up the time in your own timezone.[1]

- If you're in a timezone that uses daylight saving, or if you sometimes change timezones, then adding the event as a recurring event can be difficult. (It's possible to choose the correct GMT timezone, but a bug in Google Calendar shows the wrong time for future recurrences. Instead, add
- The Time Zone Converter can convert from UTC/GMT to your time zone.

You can also try adding the following "Appropedia online events calendar to your calendar, if you have Google calendar (or anything compatible with Google Calendar). That should convert the time to your timezone, but you'll probably want to check that it looks right.
