Vital Signs Assessment
Vital Signs (VS) include the measurement of pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature. These numbers provide critical information (hence the name "vital") about a patient's state of health.
Control of significant bleeding is a top priority during patient care as hemorrhage the leading cause of preventable death in both civilian and military trauma.
Airway management is included in this California-based EMT program as it is required for National NREMT registration and skills verification for California Registration.
CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) Administration

Campus Center for Appropriate Technology[edit | edit source]
The Campus Center for Appropriate Technology is a student-run sustainability organization on the site of Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, which is intended as a site for experimenting with and developing small-scale or "appropriate" technology.
CCAT papercrete clayslip demo wall
The wall is framed by two driftwood logs and in-filled half by paper-crete bricks, half by clay-slip-straw, which is held in place by a recycled wood lath; and is covered by a combination of natural and lime plasters.
The CCAT greenhouse is a lean-to Garden Sun Room model frame and glazing. It is supported by a freestanding beach grass and clay slip wall.
