Los equipos de protección individual (EPI) son las mascarillas, respiradores, escafandras, excubadoras, y otros.
Permiten que las personas compartan espacio sin compartir virus, o al menos compartiendo menos carga viral. Los expertos en aerosoles los denominan "control en la fuente" cuando evitan la salida de virus de una persona en estado infeccioso, y (supongo) "protección personal" cuando evitan la entrada de virus a una persona (aún) no contagiada.
