This Open Office worksheet is a quick tool for doing the engineering economics of incandescent, CFL and LEDs of the ~ same light output. I erred on the conservative - e.g. the LED will output more light. Most spaces are over lit - so you can probably get away with less. As you can see the return on investment for moving to LEDs is substantial in most applications.
