Corruption

From Appropedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Corruption is both a financial issue, reducing the effectiveness of aid and development programs; it is also an abuse of power.

Jeffrey SachsW claims that corruption is not the major problem facing Africa, citing examples of African countries that are ranked at the same level of corruption as countries in other regions, yet have much worse standards of growth, health etc.[1]

Preventing corruption[edit]

Simple methods such as keeping beneficiaries fully informed can help reduce corruption.
