About Me
My name is Cecil and I am a junior at Humboldt State. I love every aspect of music and I'm super into bicycles and tattoos, but not tattoos of bicycles.
Interests in Technology and the Environment
- This semester I am an environmental science major. I signed up for technology and the environment because my interests are broad and I have been considering majoring in environmental resource engineering. I want to be part of the change that needs to occur for our species to survive on this planet.
- I am interested in emerging technologies that work with the environment to provide us with the luxuries we typically enjoy at the expense of the environment such as clean energy, renewable building materials, and more or less all things sustainable.
Experience in Technology and/or the Environment
- Well, I am basically computer illiterate and having lived in a tiny country town the majority of my life I haven't been exposed to a whole lot of technology, I just got my first cell phone and I know twelve-year-olds who have had one for a few years.
- I have been employed in a slough of unskilled labor positions, from construction to pool service, and as the lowest payed guy i have had the responsibility of improperly disposing dangerous chemicals, non-biodegradable building materials and bending some rules as my superiors have instructed me to. I have come to realize that it is not a problem with policy but personal responsibility, and I want to be more responsible than I have been.
