:I am an Environmental Engineering Undergraduate student at Humboldt State University. I also compete in Cross Country and Track for the college. I'm originally from Roseville, California which is just north of Sacramento.

*I really enjoy efficiency as an idea, so I am very interested in alternate forms of energy such as fuel cell and solar power in an attempt to create more powerful and efficient cars, homes, etc.   
*My current passions in engineering lie with utility design and water treatment. I've geared my education toward the design of road drainage systems, stormwater collection, and sewer systems as well as with the design and treatment of wastewater.   
*I'm also very interested in sustainability. I dream of having a large piece of property where I have a completely self sustaining home so I can save money on power and water but also be able to live somewhere more off the grid.  
*I'm also very interested in remediation such as in subsurface groundwater aquifers. I took a class that focused on the remediation of contaminated areas and even had the chance to analyze a superfund site in Hutchinson, KS.  
*Lastly, I love structural engineering. The way buildings and bridges are made is such a fascinating and beautiful process that I would love to work on or facilitate.

During the summer of 2018 I had the opportunity to be a specialist counselor at a sleep away summer camp in northeastern Pennsylvania called Tyler Hill Camp. My position here was in the technology education section with various activities including 3D printing, Robotics, and general science education. I was responsible for running the area with class sizes throughout the day ranging from 10-25 of kids ages 6-12. Seeing how children learn as well as collaborating with other camp counselors allowed me to better understand the learning process as well as in the importance of effective and empathetic communication.
*I also worked for that same painting company doing blueprint work as to how to paint designated areas while leaving as much as the furniture in it's designated location as possible.

My focus in the agency has been in transportation planning and engineering with projects ranging from timber sales, motor vehicle use, as well as geotechnical design of low volume road failures. I've had the opportunity to shadow a geotechnical engineer with a professional engineering license in the state of California to learn about the nuances of road design and about contract administration.

The project is in partnership with BLM and is for a graduate students master's thesis. Utilizing the data collected during the thesis project, we determined if turbidity is a suitable replacement for suspended sediment concentration in remote watershed areas where the constant collection of filters is difficult.
