I believe we deserve a future where what we have learnt about human nature is actually reflected in the paradigms that shape our lives. If history has bankrupted the fundamentally rational nature of man, then the systems that we use should not be based on that bankrupted notion. If our education system was developed to provide the accounting class of an industrialised society, and we need not clerks and have moved into the uncertainties of post-industrialisation, then said education system should reflect this and stop un-teaching ingenuity. If we understand humans as remarkably clean slates, with environment fostering talent and trauma often leading to genius, then we must do away with the notion that it is somehow only those of distinguished parentage that deserve to flourish, the remainder sacrificed to a diet of reality TV and wide-screen poverty.
