Suggested organizations[edit source]

Are the ones listed on the page confirmed, or do they include organizations we just think are suitable? Either way, I'll start a list of suggestions below. --Chriswaterguy · talk 00:58, 7 November 2007 (PST)

On closer examination, I'm sure these are just ideas, not confirmed. --Chriswaterguy · talk 19:37, 20 December 2007 (PST)

Suggested additions[edit source]

Open access, open content[edit source]

One thing we'll have to think about is the difference between open access and open content - and within open content, the difference between more restrictive (with non-commercial clause) and less restrictive licenses.

Without wanting to exclude the participants that are only partly open, I'm a fervent believer that more open is better. I recognize this isn't always practical, but sometimes it's just a culture of keeping control - educational institutions in OpenCourseWare have valid reason for not wanting to give away a big chunk of their competitive advantages by allowing commercial use, for example, but I don't see any reason the World Bank, UN bodies and governments shouldn't follow a fully open content approach (like the US federal govt). --Chriswaterguy · talk 19:37, 20 December 2007 (PST)
