Over 1.3 Trillion lbs of food is wasted annually before it even gets to the stores shelves. Shouldn't that food be in the bellies of people rather than in piles on the ground?

Sustainable Food Dehydration is one class of tools that we have for mitigation of all this unnecessary waste.

Traditional food dehydration methods such as solar drying are often considered one of the most sustainable practices in the field. However when employed on a commercial scale, solar food dehydration generally requires large tracts of land, that could be otherwise put to more productive use, such as primary food production/agriculture.

Below, I hope that a collaborative conversation can develop, and that we can all share information about the best practices and methods in Sustainable Food Dehydration.
