Microlivestock is a term for raising small, domesticated animals in a small area such as a garden, backyard or hobby farm. Such animals have no to minimal impact on the environment in terms of soil erosion or compaction, pollutants, odors, etc., provided they are kept in small numbers. Of course, appropriate care must be taken to maintain their environment and keep their housing clean and sanitary in order to keep any impacts at a minimum.
In many cases, microlivestock is ideal for the urban environment, provided there is space for the animals to live healthily and with good welfare.
