Why is Appropedia looking for sponsorship?

Sponsorship will better enable us to fulfill our mission to build rich and sustainable lives.

How much sponsorship is needed?

We hope to be able to employ at least 2 people starting in 2011.

However, as a volunteer organization, even small amounts make a big difference - $1000 or $5000 may enable us to perform much needed work and improve the service we provide. Talk to us to find out more about the difference your sponsorship can make.

Is it tax-deductible?

Donations to the Appropedia Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, are tax-deductible under US law.

If you are outside the US and need tax-deductibility, please Talk to us - it may be best to sponsor a joint project with one of our international partners.

I want to control what is written about my company on Appropedia

The Appropedia Foundation and the Appropedia community are committed to fairness, integrity and accuracy, and are careful to avoid libel, and to remove it if it appears on the site.

Organizations can also present their perspective on their own activities.

Sponsorship does not change this or give a promise of special treatment.

Do you take sponsorship from absolutely anyone?

We will assess sponsorships on a case-by-case basis. We don't expect sponsors to be perfect, and we hope that our relationship will support sponsors' efforts to be increasingly sustainable and ethical. We don't want sponsorship to be an example of "greenwash."

What is the value proposition for sponsors?

Sponsoring Appropedia is a demonstration of your values, to your customers, employers and other stakeholders. It shows your commitment to accurate knowledge, empowerment, and change.

Your logo and link appear on our Sponsors page. Above a basic level of sponsorship, they also appear on our front page. We will also thank your organization on our blog, through our active social media channels and other communication channels.

There are other opportunities to strengthen your relationship with Appropedia, for example through your own communication channels, and through a corporate volunteering partnership.
