Communication

Communication is the exchange or transfer of information. "Information" in this context is a collective term for knowledge or experience. „Exchange" means to give and receive information.

"The thing that we are trying to do at Facebook, is just help people connect and communicate more efficiently.“ (by Mark Zuckerberg)

The word "communication" is, next to it's meaning as a social act, also used for various actions in many different contexts. Communication happens every day and mostly without any complications. But when it comes to misunderstandings, „communication“ doesn't happen unconsciously anymore. People then start to think about it. But what is communication exactly? That is not very easy to explain because there are many different forms of communication.

For a better understanding the discription of four different forms of communication are following:

- between human and human: For example, conversations between people. Question → Answer.

- between human and computer: Input from the keyboard or mouse. A click on a file is communication between human and computer for example

- between human and devices: Driving a car with the steering wheel.

- between computer and computer: Information exchange between 2 computers.

There are many other forms of communication, but they all have something in common. All forms of communication are based on action and respons. Every action has a respons. For example, if you steer with the steering wheel to the left, the car drives to left. To steer is the action and to drive left is the response.
