Move tab[edit source]

A usability guy (Danny B from Czech, here at RecentChangesCamp Canberra 2012) pointed out that in the Vector skin, "Move" is hidden, and suggests that this makes newbies more likely to move by doing a copy-paste (which is Bad). He hasn't managed to convince the developers of the skin, but I agree with him. Is it easy to put the Move tab back out in the open? --Chriswaterguy 19:58, 19 January 2012 (PST)

I'm sure it's easy enough for someone who knows what they're doing!  :-) I searched two files, appropedia.org/skins/vector/screen.css what users can change, and appropedia.org/skins/vector/main-ltr.css the next higher css file at appropedia.org/skins/vector/. I don't see anything I can change related to the location of anything. Vector.css is mostly about colors and such. Sorry. --RichardF 05:00, 20 January 2012 (PST)

Well, thanks to Tahnok, it looks like CollapisibleTabs could be set to 'false' to show all of the tabs.

CollapisibleTabs

Collapse the navigation tabs on top when space is tight. Enabled by default. Set false to disable CollapsibleTabs globally.

$wgVectorFeatures['collapsibletabs']['global'] = false;

Allow users to enable CollapsibleTabs in their preferences

$wgVectorFeatures['collapsibletabs']['user'] = true;

If that were set to false, I also would want the user option to include them as well. --RichardF 21:23, 21 January 2012 (PST)

I went to Wikipedia and unchecked "Enable collapsing of items in the navigation menu in Vector skin" in my Vector appearance preferences. For some reason, that didn't change anything for me. Who knows what that says about how uncollapse would work here? --RichardF 06:00, 22 January 2012 (PST)
That's for menus on left side (sidebar).

Hi, Danny. Thanks! So, that means I am officially stumped. Any tips? :-) --RichardF 18:31, 3 February 2012 (PST)

So I introduced the moving of "Move" tab after the "History" tab in Vector skin. See an example. (You may need to purge your browser cache first.)
