FCKeditor bugs[edit source]

Rich text conversion
[edit source]

When dragging and dropping links (to bypass the "Paste as Plain Text" box):

  • Cannot convert links to the local site (i.e. links to www.appropedia.org pages) when using FCKeditor. This is true whether they are links copied from this site, a subdomain of this site or from another site. See this diff - tried many links, and all the links to Appropedia failed, and all the others worked (with occasional rough edges). Doing the same on another wiki (this wiki page) the Appropedia links were converted correctly, but local links there failed.

Treats tag output as wikitext[edit source]

Treats tag output as wikitext, when adding tag cloud then turning on FCKeditor. E.g. at this wiki page (that's a temporary wiki site, so the page has been imported, with this diff. Appropedia doesn't yet have the tag cloud.) It turned this:

<pre><tagcloud style="background: white;">
min_size=70
exclude=browse
</tagcloud></pre>

Into this:

<pre><br>
<div style="background: white none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;" class="tagcloud">About YHSW&nbsp; Aged Care&nbsp; Bowel Cancer&nbsp; Brain&nbsp; Brain Condition&nbsp; Cancer&nbsp; Carer Story&nbsp; Category&nbsp; Commonwealth Government Service&nbsp; Community Service&nbsp; Dementia&nbsp; Fred&nbsp; Health Service&nbsp; Help&nbsp; Licencing&nbsp; Medical Condition&nbsp; NSW Government Service&nbsp; Ovarian Cancer&nbsp; Patient Story&nbsp; Private Service&nbsp; Service Story&nbsp; Story&nbsp; YHSW Community&nbsp;</div></pre>

As with other local links (see #Rich_text_conversion above) it doesn't convert the links correctly, but seems to try to make them relative links. After the conversion they no longer work.

Line breaks and links
[edit source]

Links without display text should be automatically removed. E.g. if a line break is added before a link, sometimes it leaves a link which starts before the link break... I think it can be assumed this is not intended by the user.

For example, the following link to Sustainablog was pasted immediately after "dummy text", then line breaks were added before the link:
<pre>dummy text [1]

<br>

Sustainablog<br><br>
