This is a documentation subpage for Template:PD-author (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

[edit] Usage

Use this template to indicate that the author of an image file placed it the public domain. Only use this template when the author is not you, or any other Appropedia user.

Adding this template to a file page adds the page to Category:Copyright holder released public domain images.

This template uses the {{File other}} template to prevent non-file pages that transclude this template from categorizing into Category:Copyright holder released public domain images.
