Template:Category tree

the code works fine in a normal page, but not inside a template, it seems. See mw:Extension_talk:CategoryTree#categorytree inside of a template - someone else has also had this problem.

Update: The problem is solved, but only if parser function syntax is enabled. See the link above.

This code (<categorytree depth=0>water</categorytree>) displays:

But using the template, it doesn't display:
