Covered bikes at...[edit source]

"Justification: Active non motoroized transportation offers benefits to its users health, the community at large, and earth's climate. See Parras Sustainable Transportation Presentation."

  • Consider expanding this justification to the justification of a bike stand more than just that for bikes.

Horses require minimal maintenance? I disagree.[edit source]

This article says that both transportation modes (horses and bikes) ¨require minimal maintenance.¨ However, I would strongly disagree. I know a few people who own and have owned horses, and they are expensive and time consuming, needing to be fed, cared for, sheltered, and loved. Whereas bikes require less maintenance, and are much easier to maintain. Cars are expensive to maintain, but one of their advantages is that they require less frequent maintenance than bikes. For example, you don´t have to change your breakpads nearly as often with a car as with a bike. --Aaron 15:37, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Comments on Parras Transportation Write-Up[edit source]

The topics chosen, the bikes and bike racks at the fabrica, the tricicleta, and the combined photo of the horses, bikes, and car are a very good representation of the main methods of transportation around Parras. The comments on class issues surrounding the use of bikes also provide insight into the class "issues" that may pervade the Parras community´s mindset about the use of bicycles. This information is good for people who may not have access to this information. As respects to maintenance of the bike and tricicleta I agree that they are probably minimal, however, good animal husbandry is more than just minimal. Overall, very good information. --AngelaMC 15:46, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Why were animals removed from this article?[edit source]

Hi Ana, I was wondering why you removed the entire section on animals from this article.
