There is a topic for discussion here. Given the mercury exposure risk in flourescent lights, and the likely limited hazardous waste disposal infrastructure in the developing world, is it a good thing or a bad thing to promote the use of fluorescents in that part of the world? Are there some parts that DO have adequate Hazmat disposal schemes? Are there adequate information campaigns? Are there "bounties" offered for the return of non-functional, but unbroken fluorescents?
Seems like a good blog topic. This also seems like a good opportunity to create the "Category:Blog topic" for people to insert on talk pages? Note that this only makes sense when tagging existing content... (and maybe not even then). If you conceive of a blog topic out of thin air, where do we capture that?
