Schematic of an ecological swimming pond designed by User:KVDP. A swimming pond or WSwICF has the advantage that besides storing water for use in a variety of daily tasks, it also creates a communal swimming pool. The swimming pool created does not use chlorine, or any other chemical substances and requires the least possible maintenance necessairy for a freshwater pool. Note that the EPDM foil is not always necessairy; in cases where the soil is clay, the soil itself retains water naturally, and no foil is thus necessairy. No other foil than EPDM can be used, this as most other foils give off harmful chemicals unto the water over time.
