Appropedia:Landing pages
From Appropedia
- This is a proposed Appropedia guideline. You can edit it, or discuss it on the talk page or at the Appropedia policy discussion page.
- For now, this should be considered an essay by one or more Appropedians, and not as a policy or guideline.
Landing pages are those where new visitors to the site first arrive.
Pages that are deliberately designed as landing pages (mainly portals and the front page) should:
- include the {{get involved}} notice.
- be a good guide to the Appropedia most of interest to the visitor, i.e. act as a site map to relevant categories and highlighted content.
- be attractively designed and easy to navigate.
- add a suitable picture, perhaps from a Highlighted Project.
- avoid the table of contents on short pages - use the __NOTOC__ code if there are 4 or more headers.
