AT CAD Team/AT kitchen
This article discusses the AT kitchen design.
Two versions of the AT kitchen need to be foreseen:
- one using only electric appliances (ie hot plates, microwave oven)
- another using only appliances working on wood as a fuel (ie SSstove, wood-fired oven)
The (microwave) oven can also be used as an incubator, ie for yoghurt-making, ... The pot-in-pot ("bain-marie") technique can be used to also allow steaming with the hot plates.
Note that no cooking pots are present, these are stored near the diswashers on the KCEDW rooms above the kitchen. They are stored temporarily while wet on near the kitchen sink for drying (manually, using a towel). All pots are washed/dried by hand (no dishwashers are used for this). The 2 kitchen sinks allow 4 people to wash pots at the same time, and room is foreseen for 4 (towel) driers aswell. The natural cleaning agent is dispenser is placed in the middle, the container for it is placed under the sinks. A seperate storage compartment for the towels are present beneath the table next to the sinks.
